The sheets contain the same classes of active ingredients as liquid all-purpose detergent - plant-based cleaning agents + natural enzymes (protease + cellulase) - just concentrated on one sheet instead of diluted with around 90% water. The sheet dissolves completely and rinses out without residue. Laundry smells fresh because it's clean - not because of an extra dose of perfume.
Musty smells mostly come from residue in the fibres (sweat, skin oils, detergent residue) and leftover moisture. Many detergents only mask this with perfume instead of loosening the residue. MamaWillow tackles exactly that with plant-based enzymes: they loosen the residue, and the sheet dissolves completely and rinses out clean. Tip: take the laundry out of the machine promptly and dry it well - that way it stays fresh.

PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) is a water-soluble polymer: it dissolves completely in the water during the wash and therefore, under the EU definition (Regulation (EU) 2023/2055), does not count as a solid microplastic particle - unlike insoluble plastic particles. You'll find the full ingredients list above - nothing hides behind the word “fragrance”. That way you can decide for yourself.
The enzymes help to break down stains and organic residues in the fibres. For stubborn odour, check the dosage and choose a temperature that suits the care label. A clean washing machine and drying completely also help.
